Thornhill Community Academy Students Shine at Festival of Education

Headteacher, Student Manager and two students share their Educating Yorkshire experiences during a packed Q&A at the Festival of Education's Christopher Lee Theatre.
Students from Thornhill Community Academy proudly represented the school at the Festival of Education last Friday, where they joined Headteacher Mr Burton and the school's Student Manager Mr Wilson for a special Q&A session reflecting on their experiences of the acclaimed documentary series Educating Yorkshire.
Hosted in the Christopher Lee Theatre, the session attracted a full audience eager to hear first-hand accounts from those involved in the much-loved documentary. Mr Burton, Mr Wilson and two students shared their reflections, offering honest and insightful perspectives on life at Thornhill Community Academy and the lasting impact of taking part in the series.
The students spoke with confidence and maturity throughout the discussion, engaging the audience with their openness and representing the academy with pride. Their thoughtful contributions were warmly received by attendees and highlighted the values, resilience and community spirit that define Thornhill Community Academy.
