Compliance Status
This website is partialliy compliance with WCAG Level A and AA standards due to the non-compliances listed below. Some content published by our academies may be partially exempt from the accessibility regulations where it does not relate to essential services. We still aim to make all content as accessibile as reasonably possible.
Non-Compliant Content (Current Issues)
We are continually working to improve the accessibility of our website. At the time of this statement, we are aware of the following issues:
- PDFs and Other Documents: Many older PDF files are not fully accessible to screen-reader software. We are prioritising remediation of documents used for essential services and frequently accessed information.
- Forms: Some bespoke-styled forms may not fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA criteria (e.g. label associations, focus order etc.). We are reviewing and updating high-use forms first.
- Images: While we aim to provide alternative text for all essential images, some older images may not have appropriate alt text. If you find an image without a text alternative, please notify us so we can correct it.
- Videos: Some videos lack captions, transcripts or descriptive frame titles. We will provide accessible alternatives for any essential video content on request.
- Links and Tables: Some older pages may contain non-descriptive link text or tables without proper header markup. These are being reviewed and updated, prioritising essential information.
- Colour Contrast: We are reviewing text and backgroumd combinations to ensure they meet WCAG 2.2 AA contrast rations for the relevant text sizes.
We are applying fixes in line with Government Digital Service (GDS) accessibility monitoring guidance and prioritising pages that support essential user tasks.
